June is National Safety Month and it’s also the month when school
ends and summer vacation begins. Here in League City, we want to ensure the thousands
of children who live and play in our community are safe this summer, whether they’re
swimming in the backyard pool, riding bikes with friends, or hanging out at
home in the air conditioning.
The League City Police and Fire Department also wants to remind parents and children
to NEVER leave a person or animal in a car this summer. Even if the car is
running, the temperature can get to extreme levels that are life threatening.
